Cygwin blues #cygwin

I decided to use cygwin as a development shell, as I didn’t feel like building a redhat VM. I installed autoconf, automake, gcc and other handy build tools. I didn’t realize that cygwin doesn’t have make or libtool as dependencies.

Honestly!

  1. yeah cygwin has some pitfalls. My opinion would have been to use a redhat VM like you talked about or mounting a ubuntu VM. Here is a list of good Ubuntu VM images http://binary1.wordpress.com/2008/09/30/ubuntu-vmware-images/.
